How to win in Street Fighter 4 (online)
Have you ever had your friends over to play some fighting games? Ever had that one friend whom always picked the cheap boss character and spammed the dirtiest move over and over again until he won? You know, that guy who is more concerned about his own victory than about having a good time with friends?
Well, that is how the Street Fighter 4 online experience is like. I’m starting to get sick and tired of people who will only play Akuma and spam fire balls from across the screen.
In my own online experience I get about 10% newbies, 20% genuinely good players and 70% cheap cowards who will only play as Ken, Sagat or Akuma. The latter is especially cheap because he’s designed for pussies who don’t like to fight for real and his Ultra is unblockable and does the most damage in the entire game.
The reason why I dislike these particular characters is that I have an inherit weakness against them as Chun-Li. The easiest way to kill a Chinese Interpol officer is apparently by excessive spammage of shuryukens and jump kicks.
I’m not complaining because I’m losing. I’m not a sore loser. I win about as many matches as I lose anyways. What annoys me is that there is a big group of people who are playing SF4 solely to use cheap exploits and not care for skill or respect or the “art” of fighting. They’re playing to win even if that means being a cheap pussy.
Chun-Li isn’t a very good character compared to the top-tier ones. She has a serious weakness against air attacks. I’ve read some guides on how to play her and it essentially boils down to play extremely defensively and always keep distance between you and your opponent. I tried this and while I did win more matches, that play style is extremely boring to me.

YES he picked Abel, someone who likes to fight up close. or just roll all over the screen and throw you non-stop. no biggie, at least the match was interesting, and then after 15 minutes of waiting i get a Ken match, nothing but dragon punches and cross up combos, great match, down to the last hit i pulled it off, my first online victory! bittersweet, now i fight a Ryu, and get fireballed to death. in the third round i nail the shin-shoryuken, one hit left for each and what happens? fireball fight! he throws a million until he gets the EX fireball and throws 3 of those…WHAT A BITCH ASS MOVE. I now stick to playing with people i know and make friends with online. that is all, quick match is erased from my vocabulary

Jun 06, 09 at 22:46Cheap shooters. I hate when this game turns into tag. I prefer Gen. No fireballs but with the most moves in the game there’s alot u can do with him. Akuma is my second. I come at them with an air fireball then land a combo in. It depends who is using them that will make them shoot like a puss all day. The top two are ken and sagat. Hate sagat cuz he’s cheap and ken cuz he is in every other match. DESTROY ALL THE KENS & SAGAT PLAYERS!!!

I was able to beat Arcade on Harder with him without using continues (even against Seth) and earned myself a silver trophy. I even took him online because it’s really hard to lose with him, except against a player who actually knows what he’s doing.

Ive red the play guides on Chun-li and Guile, And yeah, they are pretty boring to play as, cause of their “charge” attacks. Its a real shame.
They 2 characters that I do find really cheap though, Are Zangief and Blanka. I hate them so much

Sep 07, 09 at 13:32I actually really like Chun-Li now. She basically forces you to play mind games, rather than rely on force. Nothing feels better than baiting a scrubby Ken or Sagat player.
Akuma players is a breeze with Chun because of her reach and his poor recovery.
