“Haha, kung!” as I would have said in swedish.
Been a while since I last saw “Caramelldansen”.
And I found this text (on wikipedia), made me laugh: Also part of the misheard lyrics “Dansa med oss Klappa era händer” make reference to “Barusamiko-su Yappa irahen de” (”Balsamic vinegar ain’t our needs after all” in Kansai dialect)
Oh btw, it says “Erik goes to Singapore to make games” at the top of your blog. Afaik, you have moved back to “Sheleftyou”.

Thanks for downloading my sillyness.
Yes I know it’s a bit misleading. While I’m technically isn’t in singapore anymore, I’m still making games for a singaporean company.

Haha!
I’m glad to see a demo of Novelty.
After seeing the video of the IDE… Well, I’ve been excited.
So this is nice.
It also gave me a chance to rip everything apart and mess with it.
… Didn’t accomplish much.
Was interesting to see the script.
Was also interesting to see how you did the animation n’ whatnot.
Too bad you didn’t use many commands… No input or conditionals… Or, really, that’s not a bad thing I suppose, but I almost wish you had.
I could have worked out a little VN if you had

Yeah this was just something (stupid) I put together in boredom and not very good for showing off the engine.
The scripting language I use is called Angelscript but it’s entirely optional if you want to use it or not as the engine isn’t scriptbased.
There’s another older demo here if you’re interested.
It utilizes a choice menu and some branching but there still aren’t any real if-then-else conditionals because I’ve yet to implement them. It’s not a technical challenge as much as a design challenge on the UI side, so I’m taking my time to get it right.
I’ll release more info and eventually an alpha version as I complete more essential features.
PS. The .nvz-file is a regular zip file and you can open it to examine the assets and their xml code.
