Not dead, just exercising my right to do nothing
Thanks goes to Kvist for reminding me to update this blog. Admittedly, doing “nothing” might be a bit misleading since I’ve actually been up and about quite a bit.
I had about three posts I wanted to write during the holidays but I guess my lazyness got the best of me. So here’s a summary of what I’ve been up to since december.
Christmas happened. The week before christmas eve I went to see Simon, Landale and Conny for a weekend to play games and trade gifts. That was a lot of fun. Got to see Simon’s new appartment and it’s pretty sweet.
Then, needless to say, I celebrated with my family. It was a much calmer experience than the usual case. We didn’t trade gifts this year. In a sense it was really weird.. but I’ve always enjoyed giving gifts more than recieving them.
Then there was new years. I celebrated with Marcus and Erik (different one). Mix a spoon of Guitar Hero 3 with a pint of beer. Add some champagne and a touch of fireworks and you’ll get a fun night out.
This past weekend I went to visit Landale again. Besides being treated to a big dose of Transformers nostalgia we saw AvP2 and played even more games!
Besides celebrations I’ve been quite busy working on Novelty, my visual novel editor. Oh? I guess I’ve never officially mentioned it on this blog. It’s something I’ve been tinkering with for over a year on my spare time. The people on the gamedev forums should know about it already but I’ve had my reasons why not to write about it here. I’m sure I’ll get around to writing a proper rant about it sooner or later, but until then you can look at this preview clip in case you’re even remotely interested.
I started working again last week.. but that’s the usual same old, not exciting enough for this blog. Lastly during the holidays I made sure to collect all 120 stars in Super Mario Galaxy and encountered a weird bug in the process. Now I need to finish Metroid Prime 3 and get started on other neglected games.
I’ll end this post with some photos from the gathering:
