Who turned off the lights?

So I got home yesterday and a letter had been slipped under the door. I didn’t think about it much. I put it on the table and reached for the light.
No light. Crap. Better check the fuse box. Nope. Everything looks okay. Maybe there’s a power shortage? Nope. My neighbours seem to be okay. Weird.
I decide to go out for some food. Maybe they power will be back once I’ve had some dinner.
Halfway to the MRT station it hits me. The letter! Did my company “forget” to pay the utilities bill? Craaaap.
I eat and watch a movie to kill some time. Once back at the I read the letter (using my DS Lite as my only light source) (..ftw) and it was indeed a notice saying that our power had been disconnected.
No power naturally means no computer, no internet. But unfortunately it also means no A/C and no hot water. I can live without hot water and my computer if I really have to, but not having A/C is the worst.
We’ve just entered a period where the the weather is super hot and super dry. My room was probably upwards 30 degrees. Opening the window did nothing. In fear of dehydration I soaked a towel in cold water and slept on that. I’m sure my recently ill body just loved that.
Usually I would throw a fit over this. I did it the last time they neglected the bills (but payed in the last minute). I guess I’m not surprised anymore. Utility bills are not very high on the company’s priority list. At least not until the final pink notice arrives.
This better be the last time something like this ever happens. My patience is running out.
[Update #1]
I’ve recieved word that the power will be reactivated sometime tonight. I’ll prolly stay late at the office just to be safe.
[Update #2]
Power seem to be back on, but only half of it. I got my computer running and my A/C.. but none of the ceiling lamps in the appartment are working. It’s still very dark.
