Screw disabled people! I’m getting one of these when I’m old (or lazy) enough!

Too bad you still need to get up to eat and go to the bathroom.

I moved

January 20th, 2007 by Erik Benerdal

The company I work for here in Singapore is supplying me with a place to stay. So the good thing about that is that I don’t have to worry about any rent. The catch is that if they tell me to move I have to move.

So I moved.

I’m still living in the same condo complex but in another building in a slightly smaller appartment with some of the artists from work. It’s not that big of a deal, but I underestimated how hard it would be just to carry a few boxes of stuff.

Arms.. like.. NOODLES!

Arrived in one piece

January 9th, 2007 by Erik Benerdal

So I got back here yesterday morning, and by morning I mean 9am Singaporean time.. or 2am my time.

I had approximately 1 hour between the flights to and from Kuala lumpur, but of course the flight from sweden had to be late for approximately 1 hour due to some technical problem. So besides the joy of having to fly with a maybe-broken plane, I had to spend the last hour of the flight counting minutes and plan out just how I would make the next flight.

Luckily, Malaysian airlines planned ahead and right inside the terminal there was this guy gathering up all of us who had to connect to singapore. We then quickly rushed to the correct gate, through the security check and into the plane.

But I was still concerned. I knew I had made the flight, by running. But my luggage can’t run, can it? I couldn’t see my luggage making it, unless this flight would wait for it. It turns out it did get delayed for about 20 minutes, which made me feel a bit better.

But yeah. Once I arrived in Singapore it was clear that the luggage didn’t make it. I found some comfort though that this applied to everyone else who flew from sweden, so I wasn’t in it alone. In the end I only had to wait for another 40-ish minutes for my bag.

The rest of the day was super weird. My brain was running on fumes. I felt awake, but I just couldn’t.. do anything. Forming coherent thoughts was a chore. I took a nap later in the day, got up again at around 7pm and didn’t sleep again until midnight.

I woke up 8 this morning, feeling pretty good. Good sign. Currently it’s about noon and the jet lag is catching up with me. Thankfully Cedric knows understands this (probably more than I do) and I’m not really expected to perform to my fullest today.

Once I’m not as tired, I’ll post some pictures from my holiday.

..aaand back again

Gah! I suck at updating this blog, I know!

I’m currently sitting in Arlanda airport waiting for the flight that’s supposed to take me back to Singapore.

Christmas was awesome, but I’m going to save all that for a later post ..with pictures.

I have about 13 hours of flying ahead of me and I’m kind of discouraged by the fact. Like I might have said in my last post, the flight here to Sweden was okay. The service was great but I couldn’t sleep at all so it took f-ing forever!

Coming from the a small town in northern sweden where you’re lucky if you can catch a bus, I’m quite used to waiting. If I have to spend 2-3 hours doing absolutely nothing, that’s not a big deal. I’ll live. But 13? I brought lots of literature with me though, both in paper and mp3 form.

I never really missed Sweden, nor my family (we talk a lot through skype), until I got back here. I was reminded that this is my true home and why I love it. It doesn’t feel quite right going back to Singapore, but I’m sure that will pass as soon as I get to bury myself in work again.

Oh well. That’s all for now. Catch you in back in sing-sing.
