Going home

December 17th, 2006 by Erik Benerdal

It’s 5am and I’m sitting in a breakfast-only Mc Donald’s at Changi Airport and typing this on a super greasy keyboard.

I’m on my way to Kuala Lumpur where I’ll then grab another flight that will take me to Stockholm. I’m stoked to finally get back home again. I’ll stay for three weeks, (to my boss’ dismay). Apparently there’s no such thing as a christmas holiday here in Singapore, except on christmas day of course.
I had to use up all my available leave days, and then some. Hehe.

I might post a few more lines when I reach stockholm in roughly 15-16 hours.

[Update]
Okay I made it to Stockholm, and so did my luggage. It’s 3:30pm here, but for me it’s like 10:30. My cell started working again after 6 months so I called mom and she promised me some falukorv for supper :D
I never managed to fall asleep on the plane. I would nod off from time to time, but then a kid would run past my seat or a baby would start crying. But the flight wasn’t that bad. The service was nice. I had my own little tv-thing that I could use to watch movies and sit-coms. Way better than f-ing Turkish airlines that showed 1 single movie on a small screen in the front during the entire flight. I’m sticking to Malaysian Airlines from now on.

AGDS

AGDS

This weekend I will be attending the Asian Game Developers Summit. As the name states it’s primarily for asian game developers (read: outsourcing companies), so I won’t exactly be bumping into Will Wright or anything. Also by “Asian” I presume they’re not really counting Japan because I’ve seen nothing about any japanese speakers.

Still there are a handful of interesting people showing up, and I expect to listen to some good presentations. Our own Joe Dever is going to give a talk about his experiences with turning his fantasy book IP (ie. Lone Wolf) into a computer game.
